What is the Extent of the Earth’s Biosphere?

Earth is lively planet having all forms of lives in it. The life forms can be found in the equator and even in the polar ice caps. The microbes which are the tiniest of the living organisms lives beneath the surface of the earth. The total mass of the microbes is estimated to be higher than that of all the masses combined of the plants and animals living on the surface. Biosphere’s thickness is very hard to measure as the sky altitude is as high as 1,800 m and ocean depth to the extent of 8,372 m. Some of the examples of living organisms being found at extreme:

Ruppell’s vulture is said to be found at an altitude of 11,300 m

The bar headed geese migrates to the extent at an altitude of 8,300 m

Yaks live in the mountains which are as high as 5,400 m

Like the Yak, the mountain goats also live up to 4000 m in the mountains.

As for the microscopic organisms, they can be found in every inch of the biosphere which includes the hot springs, soil, deep oceans, inside rocks which are down within the earth’s crust and even in the atmosphere. The secret of such a long span of life of these microorganisms is that they can thrive under test conditions and tend to thrive under the outer space vacuum. As the temperature increases, it results in the increasing depth within the earth’s crust. This rise in the temperatures results due to the change in the crust phase, type of rock and geographic location. 122 Degrees Celsius is known to be the greatest temperature in which a microorganism have existed.

There are a number of biomes which comprises our biosphere. These biomes are inhabited by the flora and fauna in our ecosystems. The land surface comprises of the latitude separation. Terrestrial biomes which lies within the Antarctic and Arctic Circles are moreover relatively barren place of plant as well as the animal life, on the other hand most of the more populous and complex biomes lie at the place of the equator.
