GRAVITATIONAL FORCE

The pull exerted by the earth on the objects is called force of gravity or gravitational force.

EXAMPLES :

A stone on the top of a hill, when pushed, falls downward due to the force of gravity.

Ripe fruits on a tree fall towards the ground.

When We throw an object vertically upward, the force of gravity of earth at once starts acting on it. First, it slows down the object , then stops it and finally pulls it towards itself.
