It completely depends what kind of greenhouse you’re referring to, but greenhouses in general have a few limitations which can be easily fixed!
For larger greenhouses with lots of plants, the running costs can sometimes get a little expensive. The cost of operating the irrigation system, the heating system, the cooling system, the pesticides, etc. all adds up and can become an expensive hobby! The best thing to do for this limitation is to start out small — get a mini greenhousethat will fit nicely inside your kitchen, apartment, or even in your backyard. These smaller ones typically require less upkeep and there’s no need for large systems to maintain the optimal climate, because your indoor greenhousewill do the work for you! A simple hose or small greenhouse heaterwill work also!
Greenhouses can sometimes take a fair amount of time to build/set-up, and then comes the maintenance and the upkeep so the plants don’t die. Overall, greenhouses can take quite a bit of time to ensure they are in the best environment possible and have the best chance at growing optimally. With the larger greenhouses, maintaining greenhouses can take a few hours per day. If you’re a greenhouse beginner, I advise that you go for the smaller greenhouses, and have things like grow lights, heaters, and shade cloths which will minimise the amount of time taken to optimise the environment your plants are in. You can even build your own small greenhouse which would ensure you make the best greenhouse for your living conditions.
I hope this has helped and clarified some of the limitations greenhouses have! If you need more information about greenhouses, visit myplantplace.com, and you can check out this cool greenhouse starter kit to have your own greenhouse!

Operating costs. Without attention to heating and ventilation a greenhouse can cook its plants to death during a hot day and freeze them to death on a cold night. The most expensive costs of any large greenhouse used year-round are the operating costs of its HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system.
Pests and diseases. The higher humidity inside a greenhouse than outside allows diseases to thrive, while the windows protect pests from many of their natural predators.
