Arrhenius Concept of Acids and Bases -

According to Arrhenius,

Acid - It is a substance that dissociates in aqueous solution to give H+ ions.

Base - It is a substance that dissociates in aqueous solution to give OH- ions.

Bronsted-Lowry Concept of Acid and Base

According to this concept,

Acid - A substance which donates proton ,simply acid is a proton donor

Base - A substance which accepts proton ,simply base is a proton acceptor.

Lewis Concept of Acid and Base -

Acid - It is a substance which can accept pair of electrons .

Base - It is a substance which can donate pair of electrons.

Here, an interesting fact is to be noted that all Arrhenius acids are Bronsted acids but all Arrhenius bases are not Bronsted bases

Hope This Helps You!

Hey there,

Let's start from BRONSTED-LOWRY concept----

ACID:- An acid is a H⁺ donor
EXAMPLE----
[Al(H₂O)₆]⁺³

BASE:- A base is H⁺ in exceptor
EXAMPLE----
Pyridine

================================

LUX-FLOOD concept

ACID:- It is an oxide ion exceptor.
EXAMPLE----
SiO₂

BASE:- It is an oxide ion donor.
EXAMPLE:----
PbO

===================================

ARRHENIUS concept

ACID:- It gives H⁺ ions in water.
EXAMPLE----
HCl⇄H⁺+Cl⁻

BASE:- It gives OH⁻ ion in water.
EXAMPLE----
NaOH⇄Na⁺+OH⁻

=====================================

LEWIS concept

ACID:- It is elctron pair exceptr.
EXAMPLE----
BF₃

BASE:- It is electron pair donor.
EXAMPLE----
NH₄
