Give Basic Difference Between Primary And Secondary Memory

Primary Memory

1. Certain amount of physical memory.
2. Also referred as main memory.
3. Faster than secondary memory.
4. Type of primary memory - RAM and ROM.

Secondary Memory

1. It is a internal or external device ( either inside or outside the computer).
2. Used to store data permanently.
3. Slower and Cheaper.
4. Examples - Floppy disk, CD , DVD, hard drive, pen drive, etc.

Note - secondary storage are classified into magnetic device, optical device, Flash memory.
