Working :- A coil A, B,C and D is parallel to the magnetic lines of force when the coil is rotates In clock wise direction the magnetic flux passing through it changes and induce e.m.f. is produced in the coil when the plane of the coil is perpendicular to magnetic field the induce e.m.f. becomes maximum . i.e. when the angle 0° to 90° it's e.m.f. is maximum then 90° to 180° it's Value decreases and become 0° to 180° again when the coil moves 180° to 270° it's e.m.f. is maximum but in negative direction and when it's angle changes from 270° to 360° it's value decreases and become 0° at 360° .
Thus , it one complete rotation of the coil the induces e.m.f. become two times maximum and two times zero in opposite direction the same action is repeated in each rotation of one coil the current so produced is called ALTERNATING CURRENT..
