There are many responses animals show in response to environment change.

One of the prominent one is Hibernation.

Hibernation is a deep sleep exhibited by multiple animals to pass through winter season. It helps them to store energy without eating much. During the hibernation period, the heart beat rate slows down and the body temperature drops down so it doesn’t use much energy.
