7x-15y=2
x+2y=3
write one in the terms of the other
x+2y=3
x=3-2y
substitute the value of x in EQ.1
7(3-2y)-15y=2
21-14y-15y=2
-29y= - 19
y=19/29
substitute the value of y in EQ.2
x=3-2(19/29)=49/29
x=49/29
y=19/29

Hi friend,
Substitution:-
In Algebra "Substitution" means putting numbers where the letters are represented in the form of numbers by giving them some values.
Ex:-
3x+y=95. x+4y=22
3x+y=95. x+4y=22
Begin by multiplying the first equation by -4 so that the coefficients of y are opposite
5x+4y=22
5x+4y=22
−12x−4y=−36
−12x−4y=−36
+5x+4y=22
+5x+4y=22
=−7x=−14
=−7x=−14
x=2
x=2
Substitute x in either of the original equations to get the value of y
3x+y=9
3x+y=9
3⋅2+y=9
3⋅2+y=9
6+y=9
6+y=9
y=3
y=3
The solution of the linear system is (2, 3).
Hope this helps you better for your future...
