metals get rusted when exposed to air and water they also react with Chemicals but most plastic remain undefeated in those cases and they are used in making Water bottles lunch boxes food storage containers and some Kitchen ware.

Plastics are non-corrosive in nature, they do not react even if they come in contact with strong chemicals. For example, the cleaning chemicals that we use at home are stored in plastic bottles, instead of metal containers.

The plastic is non-corrosive, that is, they do not react or do not have the chemical reaction with the material contained in it. Many containers like a bucket, mug, water bottles, and food containers are made up of plastics. Plastic does not react with the chemical or other items stored in the containers made of it, It does not get rusted when exposed to moisture and air and It does not decompose when left in open for a long period  

Following examples show that plastics are non-corrosive in nature :

(i) They are used to store chemicals. For example cleansing chemical are very reactive and store in plastic bottle.

(ii) They are used to store all types of food, as it does not react to materials stored in it.
