Places on higher altitude like Shimla are cooler than places on plains like Delhi because of their altitude. Because of being on high altitude, they have less amount of carbon dioxide and as we all know carbon dioxide traps sunlight. So, the amount of carbon dioxide present, is not able to trap that much of insolation.

AS IT IS SITUATED AT A HIGHER ALTITUDE WHERE THE TEMPERATURE DROPS AT A RATIO OF 6° C PER K.M. WHEREAS DELHI IS SITUATED AT A LOWER HEIGHT.
