The diaposal of waste materials in the oceans or water bodies is called water pollution.
It baddly affects the nearby environment of the ocean. The waste comsists of harmul chemicals, plastic elements, and polythene bags. They disturb the marine balance. They pollutes the water and this lead the formation of algae. It starts consuming oxygen dissolved in water and reduces the amount of oxygen present in water. The harmul chemicals in the waste got mixed in water which leads to the death of aquatic plants and animals. The disposals like plastic may consumed by aquatic fishes leading death of them.Sometime the garbage get dumped in a specific place in water which then inhabits the growth of plants there. It totally disturbes the biofiversity of that place. Also this waste and chemicals kills useful bacteria present in water.
In these ways disposals of waste materials is very harmul for the enverionment.
