Role of saliva:- 1. Saliva is secreted by the salivary glands. 2. It contains digestive enzymes called "enzyme salivary amylase which helps in the digestion of starch. 3. Starch , which is a complex carboydrate is converted into simple sugar maltose in the mouth . 4. Saliva also makes food moist and easier to swallow. Role Of Bile:- 1. Bile juice is secreted by liver and is stored in the gall bladder. 2. The acidic food which comes through the stomach needs to be made alkaline before the digestion process can continue in the intestine . And therefore the bile juice helps turn the acidic food into alkaline . 3. Bile juice also breaks the large fat globules into smaller ones .
