Soil Erosion :-

  • The degradation in the quality of soil by the action of water, wind ,etc is called soil erosion.
  • The process of soil formation and soil erosion ho subsequently but human activities like mining , overgrazing , etc disrupts the balance .

\red{\bigstar} \textbf{ Different types of Soil erosion :- }

  • Running water cuts for the clay soil and makes it channel as Gullies . The land becomes unfit for cultivation and is called as bad land .
  • When water flows as a sheet over large areas down the slope , in this case the topsoil get washed away and this is called sheet erosion .
  • Wind blows through loose soil or flat soil and blows away the top layer .
  • Soil erosion can also be caused due to defective methods of farming .

  • Contour ploghing
