Ecosystem may vary from a huge forest to a small pond. For convenience, ecosystem is categorized into 2 :

Examples : Deserts, forests and grasslands.

2. Aquatic ecosystem

Examples : River, lakes, wetland, ponds, etc.

Man made type of ecosystems are also present. Examples of this type are : aquarium and crop fields.
