they are consecutive angles of parallel lines
i.e. angle1 + angles 2 = 180
x+3x=180
x=60
2x=120
i.e. angle1 + angles 2 = 180
x+3x=180

SO IN THE 2ND EX. .....
ANGLE X AND ANGLE 2X ARE THE INTERIOR ANGLES......
AND MEASURE OF INTERIOR ANGELS IS 180°........
SO X+2X= 180°.....
3X= 180°
X= 180/3
X= 60.....
AND 2X= 2*60= 120° ......
