Friction is of 2 types .

1. Kinetic friction >> kinetic friction arises between two contact surface only when there is relative motion between 2 contact surface .

2.Static Friction >> It exist between 2 surface when there is tendency of relative motion but no relative motion along the two contact surface.

Keep in mind that friction opposes relative motion .
