i. The Brahmaputra river marks the easternmost boundary of the Himalayas.

ii. Beyond the Dihang gorge, the Himalayas bend sharply to the south and spread along the eastern boundary of the country. They are known as the Purvanchal.

the Himalayas take a sudden southwrd turn and form a series of low hills running in the shape of a crescent with its convex side pointing towards the west and these are comparatively Called purvachal because they're located in the eastern part of India
the purvachal cover the states of Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland,and Mizoram
they are covered with dense forest and composed of strong sand Storms
