the largest Peninsula in the world is the Arabian Peninsula . This Peninsula is formed as a result of this rifting of Red Sea between 56 and 23 million years ago.

1. The Godavari is the largest peninsular river.

2. Its length is about 1500km. Its drainage basin is also the largest among  the peninsular rivers.

3. The basin covers parts of Maharashtra, M.P., Odisha & Andhra Pradesh.

4. The Godavari is joined by a number of tributaries such as the Purna, the  Wardha, the Pranhita, the Manjra, the Wainganga & the Penganga the last  three tributaries are very large.

5. It is also known as Dakshin Ganga due it its length & vast river basin.
