if x = 0 and x = -1 are zeroes of the polynomial p(x) then p(0) = 0 and p(-1) = 0

let us find p(0) = 2(0) - 3(0) + a(0) + b = b

but we know that p(0) = 0

⇒ b = 0

let us find p(-1) = 2(-1) - 3(1) + a(-1) + b

⇒ p(-1) = -2 - 3 - a + b

we know that p(-1) = 0 and b = 0

⇒ 0 = -5 - a

⇒ a = -5

so the values of a and b are -5 , 0
