In a school  $\frac{25}{54}$  of the students are female students and the rest are boys. If the No. of boys is  2030 find the No. of Female students.

Given :

Total No. of boys = 2030

Fraction of total students who are Female students=  $\dfrac{25}{54}$

Fraction of total students who are boys =  $\dfrac{54}{54}-\dfrac{25}{54}$

$=\dfrac{29}{54}$

To Find :

Total No. of students who are Female students

Solution :

• Let the total No. of students be x

• Total No. of boys = 2030

• Fraction of total students who are boys =  $\frac{29}{54}$

$\dfrac{29}{54}\times x=2030\\\\\\x=2030\:\:\div\:\:\dfrac{29}{54}\\\\\\x=2030\times\dfrac{54}{29}\\\\\\x=70\times54\\\\\\x=3780$

• Total No. of students = 3780

• No. of Female students = fraction of Femalestudents × total No. of students

$\dfrac{25}{54}\times x\\\\\\=\dfrac{25}{54}\times3780\\\\\\=25\times70\\\\\\=1750$

Total No. of Female students  in the school = 1750
