Answer:

4) Given:-

Voltage = 9V

Resistor (R1) = 0.2ohm

Resistor (R2) = 0.3ohm

Resistor (R3) = 0.4ohm

Resistor (R4) = 0.5ohm

Resistor (R5) = 12ohm

To find:-

Current flowing through 12ohm resistor

By applying I = V/R

= 9/12

= 0.75Amp.

5) Given:-

Resistor (R1) = 20ohm

Resistor (R2) = 4ohm

Voltage = 6V

To find:-

a) Total resistance of circuit

We know that resistors are connected in series

Req = R1+R2

= 20+4

= 24ohm.

b) Current through the circuit

By applying, I = V/R

= 6/24

= 0.25Amp.

c) Potential difference across the electric bulb

By applying, V = IR

= 0.25×20

= 5V.

d) Potential difference across the resistance wire

By applying, V = IR

= 0.25×4

= 1V.

6) Given:-

Resistor (R1) = 5ohm

Resistor (R2) = 10ohm

Through the 5 ohm resistor current of 1 Amp is flowing

i) What is the current through the other two resistors

We know that Resistors R2 and R3 are connected in parallel

So, Req = 1/R1+1/R2

= 1/10+1/15

= 10×15/10+15

= 6ohm.

By applying V = IR

= 1×6 = 6V.

i) Current flowing through 10ohm

By applying I = V/R

= 6/10

= 0.6Amp.

Current flowing through 15ohm

By applying I = V/R

= 6/15

= 0.4Amp.

ii) Potential difference across AB

By applying V = IR

= 1×5 = 5V.

Potential difference across AC

By applying V = IR

= 1×6 = 6V.

iii) Total resistance

Req = R1+R2

= 5+6

= 11ohm.
