Breathing:

1. Breathing is a mechanical process.

2. No enzyme is involved.

3. No Energy is released.

4. It takes place outside the cell.

5. Exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide take place.

 Respiration :

1. Respiration is a complex process.

2. Enzymes are involved.

3. Energy is released and stored in the form of ATP.

4. It take place inside the cell.

5. Oxidation of glucose take place.

Breathing (or respiration, or ventilation) is the process of moving air into and out of the lungs to facilitate gas exchange with the internal environment, mostly by bringing in oxygen and flushing out carbon dioxide.

Whereas

Respiration refers to the mechanisms for obtaining oxygen from the air and delivering it to the tissues, while eliminating carbon dioxide from the body. It is related to cellular respiration, the biochemical processes that consume this oxygen and generate the carbon dioxide in the course of making adenosine triphosphate ( ATP ).
