Dicot seeds are beans, whereas monocot seeds are rice. The food in a seed is stored in the cotyledons. If the number of cotyledons is one, it is called monocot seed, else they are known dicots.

Monocots are more primitive as compared to dicots. Big plants fall under dicots. Dicots have tap roots whereas monocots have fibrous roots. Monocots have reticulate veneration whereas dicots have parallel venation.
