Indian Constitution is a unique blend of rigidity and flexibility. This is in keeping with the federal polity as well as India's diversity as a nation. Any amendment to the constitution which affects its federal nature would need a special majority in the Parliament plus ratification by half the states.

It is pre requisite to under the concept of rigid and flexible constitution.
A flexible constitution can be amended in an ordinary way i.e. to say, in the same way as the legislature can amend any ordinary law.
A rigid Constitution is when there is a special procedure needed to amend the Constitution.
In brief, India has a blend of both the above mentioned types. Article 4, 169, part 7 to schedule 5, part 6 to schedule 21 and article 239A(2) can be amended with a simple majority in the legislature (parliament consisting LS, RS and president of india). These provisions provide that any amendments made using these articles shall not be deemed as constitutional amendments.
On the other hand, if any other amendments are to be made in the Constitution, Article 368 provides special procedure. 368 provides for need of special majority as well as need for special majority+ratification by 50% of states in required cases.
This is best to my knowledge. Hope it helps!
