A very good example is the burning of coal for a household fire.

In this process, coal i.e. carbon burns with oxygen to produce CO2 and heat energy.

It is a desirable process as it is required for the generation of heat for many purposes like cooking, etc.

On the other hand, it is also undesirable as CO2 is a greenhouse gas and results in global warming and climate change and also pollution to some extent.
