1) Acetylene burns with a sooty flame, because it is an unsaturated compound. In unsaturated compound, carbon extent is more than hydrogen, so it gives sooty flame on burning .
2) Kerosene does not decolorize bromine water while cooking oils do because kerosene is a mixture of alkanes (saturated compound). While oils are unsaturated compounds. Unsaturated compounds undergo addition reaction, while alkanes do not. So oils give addition reaction with bromine water and decolorize it .
