bcz current carrying conductor also has its own magnetic field and hence acts as a magnet

as electric field do has its own magnetic field so coming in range of a magnetic field magnetic needle gets deflected ..becoz in nornal conditions a magnetic needle shows pausage in north - south directin whereas when it comes in a range of magnetic field its pausage for the north and south directions changes due to the atraction b/w unlike poles formed by the current carrying conductor
