Here is the answer

1. India is a tropical country.

2. Convectional rainfall is mostly prominent in equatorial regions.

3. Convectional rains are caused by the intense heating of the surface which causes the air to expand and rise.

4. Abundant supply of moisture in the air to produce a very high relative humidity. This happens only in equatorial regions.

As a result , Convectional type of rainfall is not prominent in India
