Buildings have a wide foundation so that the pressure exerted by it less.

When area increases pressure decreases.

*An increase in the surface area decreases the pressure acting on an object.

*Because of this principle, buildings have wide foundations to reduce its pressure on the ground.

*Buildings are very large and massive structures and if they do not have a wide foundation, they might sink into the ground.

Hope it helps..
