vapour pressure of a solvent decreasea on adding a non volatile solute because of decrease in escaping tendency of solvent molecules from the surface of the solution as some of the area is occupied by non volatile solute.

Hey!!!
Here is your answer___________
The boiling point of the solution is higher because the nonvolatile solute lowers the vapor pressure of the solvent. Thus, the temperature must be increased to a value greater than the boiling point of the pure solvent to achieve a vapor pressure equal to atmospheric pressure.
