give reason for the following 1).
Na is kept in kerosene.2).shopkeepers apply oil on tools made up of iron while storing them.please help me . it is urgent

(1)sodium is kept under kerosene because it caches fire easily when it comes in contact with air or other reactive metals.
2) when iron comes in contact with oxygen and moisture it starts rusting. To prevent it from rust shopkeepers apply rust free oils befor storing them..

1) sodium reacts vigorously with the oxygen present in the air to form sodium oxide.As a result, it ctaches fire if in open. It is, therefore, kept in immersed in kerosene
