Answer:

A sponge can be compressed easily but still we count them in solids because they have minute pores in it which are filled with air.

Clothes dry faster during windy day rather than a sunny day because wind helps in fast evaporation of moisture present in wet clothes by carrying away along with the moving air.

Steam will produce more severe burns than boiling water because steam has more heat energy than water due to its latent heat of vaporisation

The temperature remains constant at boiling point, till all the molecules change their phase because all the heat being added to the liquid is absorbed to overcome the inter molecular forces and thus is not reflected and is called as latent heat.

We wear cotton clothes during summer as cotton absorbs sweat from the body, exposing to the atmosphere for easy evaporation. As we tend to sweat more during summer and cotton fabric absorbs sweat and help body to cool down.

Ice floats on water because it is less dense than water. When water freezes into its solid form, its molecules are able to form more stable hydrogen bonds locking them into positions. Because the molecules are not moving, they're not able to form as many hydrogen bonds with other water molecules.

Hope this helps you a lot.
