a. Naphthalene undergo sublimation that is change in the state from solid to directly vapours.Hence no residue or solid is left.
b. Molecules of perfume get diffused into atmosphere or nearby air. And its smell reaches us through air when we inhale oxygen.

1- the reason is that naphthalene balls perform sublimation i.e they change into gaseous state directly without changing to solid.
2- The perfume molecules spread out or 'diffuse' through the air. The smell becomes less concentrated but it reaches a great distance - meaning you can smell it from relatively far away. When a perfume is sprayed several metres away from the source, the particles of the perfume diffuses with the particles of the gas.
