Passengers sitting in the running bus shares the motion of the bus. It means the passenger is travelling with the same speed and in the same direction as the bus is.
When the running bus stops suddenly, the lower part of the passenger body comes to rest, while the upper body portion continues to remain in motion. As a result, the passengers lean in forward direction when brakes are applied.
