Gases are highly compressible than solid.

Reason - As we know that solids have very less intermolecular spaces due to strong forces of attraction between the molecules while gases have large intermolecular spaces because of weaker forces of attraction so gases can be compressed easily.

There are large intermolecular space between gas thus making it highly compressible while in solid intermolecular space is very less thus making the solid molecules lose their compressibility. This is the reason why gases are highly compressible and solids are not.
