simple. cricket ball is heavier than a tennis ball so it takes a greater force to bring the cricket ball into velocity x (say) than the tennis ball. hence, it takes a greater force to stop the cricket ball than the tennis ball
in physics word
Because of the momentum (which is mass multiplied by velocity). So even if the velocity is same, the mass of leather ball is greater than that of tennis ball and hence has more momentum and not easier to stop.

tennis ball has lesser momentum as compared to a cricket ball (because if the mass/inertia) hence, the larger momentum makes it difficult to stop the cricket ball as compared to the tennis ball. It is difficult and required more force to stop an object moving with greater momentum
