Plant cells have a large vacuole due to the amount of water the cell must hold to maintain its shape. The water in the vacuole creates something called turgor pressure. When the vacuole has lots of water, the turgor is high and pushes against the cell wall so the cell is rigid.

Plant cell needs to store extra food that is produced by photosynthesis so they need some area to store that....

plant cell contain large vacuole because all this extra food that

is manufactured has to be stored in vacuole only.......

They store this food because if there would be any unfavorable condition and photosynthesis does not occur then they can use this extra food.....
