temperature starts rising gradually towards interior of earth because there is no place for air to get in and because of the geothermal gradient that keeps increasing with the increase in depth.. radioactive decay is also a reason for the increase in temperature.

Explanation:

Temperature starts rising gradually towards the interior of the earth because there is no space for air to get in and also because geothermal gradient that keeps increasing with the increase in depth and also lower mantle is hotter than the upper mantle so as we go the deep it will starts to increase the temperature ..
