In the 19 th century African pastoralists could migrate over vast area to find pasture for their cattles.

But form they late 19 th century their movement was regulated due to colonial rule in Africa.

The colonial government imposed various restrictions on their movement.

Like the massai all other pastoral communities of Africa were affected.

They weren't allowed to move with a permit and it was very difficult for them to get permit without trouble and harassment.

Those who were found disobeying the rules were strictly punished by the Government.

As a conclusion the Colonial Government made the life of Pastoralists more harassed than hell.
