give reason why many educated Indians did not join the revolt of 1857

Because they knew the atrocities that were commited on the people who participated in the revolt by the british.they did not want to be mistreated.

There were mainly two reasons:

1. They do not wanted the old mughal period to happen again.Because they refused give up on the revolution in education and society made by the British rule.

2.They do not wanted to lose the shield called company. They had a fear that the old mughal army wasn't strong enough to fight against the power nations of that time.
