Give reason why minerals donot have any fixed composition

The composition of a mineral is not fixed because of the presence of various impurities in it. The amount and type of impurity may vary from place to place according to the climatic conditions and other factors. These impurities replace some of the cation or anions in these minerals thus creating variations in the chemical compositions of the mineral.For example, the olivine mineral is shown by the variable formula (Mg, Fe)2SiO4 . In this formula the amount of Mg and Fe is not fixed.
