Answer:

1. heating the mixture to a very high temperature enables the molecules of iron to chemically react to the molecules of sulfur to create a new compound i.e iron sulfide (FeS) and this new compound does not show magnetism like an iron molecule does.

2. heating to a certain temperature (it's called curie point) iron loses its magnetism and it will no longer be attracted by the magnet. Hence we wont be able to separate iron from sulphur
