due to refrection when we add water reflection angle changed so we can see coin easily. and also you notic that depth of tank also minimise in when it is fill with transparent liquid

2. Hence, the coin is not visible when seen from one side of the bowl.
3. When water is poured in the bowl, the rays of light coming from the coin trave from water (denser medium) to air (rarer medium).
4. Hence, they bend away from the normal on refraction.
Therefore, the coin appears to be raised and becomes visible when observed from one side of the bowl.
