0).Oxygen is more polar than Sulfur. Therefore, the Hydrogen Oxygen bond is more polar than the Hydrogen Sulfur bond. H20 has stronger intermolecular dipole--dipole interaction because of the greater polarity

i)Looking at the C2H4 Lewis structure we can see that there two Carbon (C) atoms in the center of the structure. ... The Carbon on the right will also have a trigonal planar molecular shape. The C2H4 bond angle will be about 120 degrees since it has a trigonal planar molecular geometry.

Looking at the C2H2 Lewis structure we can see that there are two atoms attached to the Carbon of interest and that there no lone pair electrons. ... The C2H2 bond angle will be 180 degrees since it has a linear geometry.

ii)Since fluorine is more electronegative than boron,each B-F bond in BF3 is polar and three bond moments are equal.

However the symmetry of trigonal planer shape means that the three bond moments exactly cancel one another.

Thats why it is non polar because net diople moment is 0.

iii)So they need 3 electron to complete their octet. So NF3 and PF3 exist and both nitrogen and phosphorus show the covalency of 3. But Nitrogen does not have vacant d orbitals but phosphorus has empty 3d orbital. So it can accept more electrons and can increase its covalency to 5 to make PF5.

iv) F2 is more reactive than Cl2 due to greater repulsion in the non-bonded electron pairs in the molecule of F2 as compared to Cl2 therefore the bond cleavage in fluorine becomes easier.
