A gas exerts pressure on the walls of the container. Reason: They have high kinetic energy and negligible force of attraction to move constantly moving with high speed in all directions. Due to this intense random motion of particles, the particles hit each other and hit the container walls with force.

a: Gas has No definite shape and volume therefore whenever gas fills inside the vessel it completely occupied the whole space of vessel.

b: due to motion of gas particles or or gas has higher kinetic energy as compared to solid and liquid particles therefore gas exerts pressure on the walls of the container
