a) Conduction of Electricity takes place due to free electrons. Solid NaCl do not have lone electrons for Conducting electricity. When used with Water (aqueous solution) it dissosates into Na+ and Cl- ions which help in conduction of electricity
b) Metal like Na, K., Li are highly Corrosive. When combined with free Oxygen in atmosphere it reacts and can cause Explosion. So it is stored under Kerosene or oil
