Factory waste such as acids, gravel, powders etc are neutralised before disposing because factory waste contains a lots of contaminated acids which are harmful for the living organisms living in water bodies. It can be harmful in following ways: It causes diseases like typhoid, dysentery and cholera. Natural elements stimulate growth of algae, which in turn reduces the oxygen level in the water. Also, under the companies act it is written that factory waste should be neutralized before dissolving in the water bodies, otherwise strict actions would be taken against those who don't follow the rules.
