The primary purpose of ploughing is to turn over the upper layer of the soil, bringing fresh nutrients to the surface, while burying weeds and the remains of previous crops and allowing them to break down •

✵Why it is important...?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

☛Ploughing is very important for any crop field because of the following reasons:-

  • The plowing turns over the upper layer of soil.
  • Plowing helps in bringing up the nutrients to the topsoil so that the plants could absorb it.
  • It also helps in mixing of unusual plants or weeds or helps in digging them out.
  • It helps in mixing of remains of previous crops, that can be used as minerals for plants that can help in their growth.

✵Extra information:

☛Ploughing is generally done manually by using a plough or by using an animal attached plough( by bullocks). It is also known to be plow.

☛Ploughs were traditionally drawn by oxen and horses, but in modern farms are drawn by tractors. A plough may have a wooden, iron or steel frame, with a blade attached to cut and loosen the soil.

Refer the attachment for plough.
