Explanation:

3. Very strong sugar solution is hypertonic to the Grapes juice. Therefore, water from inside the Grapes moves to outside hypertonic solution. It results shrinkage of the grapes.

------------------------------------------------------------

5. Due to excessive application of fertilizers in agricultural fields it damage the root by plasmolysis process which results in flaccidity of root hairs.

------------------------------------------------------------

6. The leaves of the wilted lettuce become crisp when kept in cold water because they take up water due to endosmosis in hypotonic solution.

------------------------------------------------------------

8. If a plant is uprooted the leaves continue losing water by transpiration, but there is no more water absorbed the roots. This does not allow the compensation for the loss of water by transpiration, hence the leaves of uprooted plant wilt soon..

Explanation:

2. Most minerals must enter the root by active absorption into the cytoplasm of epidermal cells because this transportation needs energy in the form of ATP and it is also required to maintain a continuous ionic gradient between cells of the root and the soil for passive movement of water into the roots. Some ions also move into the epidermal cells passively.

3.Very strong sugar solution is hypertonic to the grapes juice. Therefore, water from inside the grapes moves to outside hypertonic solution. It results shrinkage of the grapes.

4.Strips of potato which is kept in sucrose solution has less concentration as compared to sucrose solution therefore exosmosis ( the outward movement of water molecules from cell sap to surrounding solution) takes place. Thus the cell becomes flaccid and the strips of potato becomes soft and shriveled .

5.Addition of too much fertilizer to the moist soil results in flaccidity of root hair, because the concentration of soil solution increases and water starts coming out of the root hairs due to the process of osmosis.

6.The leaves of the wilted lettuce become crisp when kept in cold water because they take up water due to endosmosis in hypotonic solution.

7.The pressure that develops in a cell due to osmotic diffusion of water inside it, is called turgor pressure. Stomata open and close due to turgor pressure of guard cells. When turgid, they swell and bend outward. As a result, the stomatal aperature opens.

8.If a plant is uprooted, the leaves continue losing water by transpiration, but there is no chance for absorbing water through the roots. This does not allow the compensation for the loss of water by transpiration; hence the leaves of the uprooted plant wilt soon.

9.Transplantation causes stress to the seedlings. If the seedlings are transplanted in the morning, they would have to immediately bear the additional stress of excessive transpiration occurring during the hot afternoon. ... Therefore, it is better to transplant seedling in a flower bed in the evening and not in the morning.

10.Plant cells have a cell wall around the outside than stops them from bursting, so a plant cell will swell up in a hypotonic solution, but will not burst.

hope it helps my sis!!

thanks.
