(b) The plant cell is rigid because it contains a cell wall that is absent in animal cells. The cell wall is made up of proteins, cellulose fiber and polysaccharides. The cell wall gives the plant cell its shape. Because there is a cell wall in the plant cell which is absent in the animal cell.
